A tent rental in Durham Region costs from $75 for a 10’x10′ pop-up tent to over $6,000 for a 40’x80′ clear-top frame tent. Most backyard parties use a 20’x20′ to 20’x40′ tent, which costs $650 to $1,345 with installation included. We’re based in Ajax and deliver across Ontario. Seating is based on 10 sq ft per guest at tables. Frame and pole tent prices include installation and takedown by our crew.
Clear top or solid top?
A clear-top tent costs more than the same size with a solid top (see the table above). You get daylight during the day and a view of the stars after sunset, which is why clear tops are popular for evening weddings. Solid tops give full shade and rain cover at a lower price.

- Sidewalls: $20 to $40 per section for frame tents, $10 to $15 for pop-up tents
- Lighting: globe string lights $55, Edison string lights $76, crystal chandeliers $135
- Heating: patio heaters $125, forced air propane heaters $155, diesel heaters $805 for large tents
- Flooring: plastic flooring $1.45 per sq ft, plywood $2.50 per sq ft, parquet dance floor panels $27.50
- Weights: needed on asphalt, interlock, patios and decks, from $10 per weight
- Delivery: quoted based on your location once we receive your request
Tent packages per guest
If you’d rather book everything together, our frame tent packages include the tent, tables, chairs and more, priced per guest for 50 guests or more:
- Memories package: from $36.95 per guest (solid top), with chairs, tables, tent walls, string lights, site inspection, delivery and installation
- Moments package: from $71.25 per guest, adding linens, dance floor, dishes, glassware, a bar and setup of tables and chairs
- Milestones package: from $93.25 per guest, with Chiavari or crossback chairs, harvest tables, Edison lights, ceiling drapes and charger plates
Clear top versions are $5 more per guest ($7 for Milestones).
Permits
Under the Ontario Building Code, tents over 646 sq ft (60 m²) need a building permit, so a 20’x30′ (600 sq ft) or smaller doesn’t. The limit counts all tents on your property together, and the tent must be at least 3 m from other structures. For anything larger, we supply the engineered drawings and safety certificates for your application.
How to save on your tent rental
- Size the tent to your guest list. Plan 10 sq ft per seated guest and 6 sq ft per guest on the dance floor.
- Choose a solid top if you don’t need the view.
- Book a package if you need tables, chairs and linens anyway.
- Pick up pop-up tents yourself on Friday and return them Monday for a single day’s rate.
